That is more than the previously reported buy-out clause for the Tottenham Hotspur star.
In the summer Tottenham Hotspur decided it was best they moved on Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb. Eric Dier’s emergence in midfield and the signing of Victor Wanyama saw the Algerian slip further down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
With that in mind he was loaned to Bundesliga club Schalke, where he has proven to be a massive success.

Schalke want him permanently and according to a recent report could make the move permanent for a fee of €19 million (£16.3 million).
But those details appeared to be false. It is now reported by Sport-Bild, as reported by Fussball News, that the buy-out clause in the contract Schalke have agreed with Spurs for Bentaleb is actually €22 million (£18.9 million).

This is of course good news for Spurs, who look likely to pocket a little more cash if Bentaleb does head to Schalke permanently.
The German club are unlikely to split hairs on this amount of money, given just how impressive the Algerian has been since arriving at Gelsenkirchen.

Spurs meanwhile would be able to invest that money well in the transfer market next summer should Bentaleb be on his way.
The Algerian has been in excellent form lately, scoring five goals in his last six games for Schalke.
