David Moyes apparently feels Phil Jones could really improve the quality available to him at West Ham United, the Independent report

Moyes worked with Jones at Manchester United, and is now said to be eager for a reunion with the England international at West Ham.

Jones only penned a new contract, worth £75,000-a-week (Spotrac), last summer at United, which is said to be an ‘issue’, but he realises his first team chances at Old Trafford are limited.

Moyes really feels that Jones could improve the quality of West Ham’s defence though.

Moyes seems to have settled upon Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna as his first choice central defensive pairing with the Hammers, but Jones’s arrival would give them significant competition for a place next term.

West Ham are also believed to be keen on Jesse Lingard, who faces an uncertain future with the Red Devils.

Lingard has not provided a goal or an assist all season in the Premier League and has seen his game time extremely limited since Bruno Fernandes’s arrival.
