West Ham United are apparently leading the race for Omar Colley, according to Sampdoria News.

The Sampdoria defender is said to be high up on West Ham’s list of targets, with David Moyes seriously considering bringing him in.

Colley’s family used to live in London, and the idea of a move to the capital reportedly appeals to the player as a result.

If West Ham were to sign Colley, he could be a different type of option to what Moyes’s side have seemingly been looking for this summer.

The Hammers appear to have taken the strategy of attempting to attract the best young talent from the Championship to the London Stadium.

Colley, on the other hand, has no experience of English football and is 27-years-old.

That being said, West Ham could do with more strength at the back, and Colley could offer them that.

The Gambian international was a regular starter for Sampdoria in Serie A last season, where he looked very solid.
