West Ham United boss David Moyes will not be satisfied at just signing Jesse Lingard this month, the Guardian report.

David Ornstein had caused some concern when he wrote in the Athletic that West Ham may opt not to sign a striker, if they brought Lingard in on loan from Manchester United.

However, after making a breakthrough in their bid to sign Lingard, West Ham are now said to still have their eyes on recruitment a number nine.

Lingard’s addition should bolster West Ham’s squad, but it is the signing of a striker which is surely Moyes’s top priority.

West Ham sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax earlier this month and they currently have very limited options to play up-front.

If West Ham were to suffer an injury to Michail Antonio they currently would have no cover for him, but Moyes does plan to change that.

The Guardian assure West Ham supporters that bringing in a striker is still very much on the club’s agenda.

And with days running out in the transfer window, West Ham will have to work quickly to secure the signature of a new goalscorer.
