Jeremy Ngakia could be on his way to Germany when his contract at West Ham United expires with the Telegraph reporting that a pair of Bundesliga clubs are set to offer the young defender a deal.
Inspired by the roaring success of Jadon Sancho in the yellow and black of Borussia Dortmund, many a Bundesliga outfit have taken to raiding the Premier League for talented youngsters who are in search of game-time.
The likes of Keannan Bennetts, Ademola Lookman and Rabbi Matondo are all honing their talents in mainland Europe these days, while Ethan Ampadu and Jonjoe Kenny have spent the season on loan at RB Leipzig and Schalke.
West Ham sold one-time wonderkid Reece Oxford to FC Augsburg in a £2.1 million deal last summer and, 12 months on, another academy graduate could be following in his footsteps.
Ngakia is set to become a free agent on June 30, having rejected a new £20,000-a-week contract at the London Stadium, according to The Mail.
The Telegraph now reports that two unnamed Bundesliga clubs are going head-to-head for his signature.

With Pablo Zabaleta hanging up his boots, Ngakia had been tipped by many to establish himself as West Ham’s first-choice right-back next season.
Manager David Moyes is a huge fan of the 19-year-old, hailing Ngakia’s performance during two Premier League clashes with Liverpool since the turn of the year.
So the youngster’s departure will come as a massive blow to all of a claret and blue persuasion.
