West Ham United’s board and David Moyes are both really keen on the idea of signing Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla, the Athletic report.
West Ham submitted a £26 million bid for En-Nesyri earlier this week, but it was swiftly turned down.
And it is understood that the Moroccan is the club’s first choice to come in up-front.
Moyes and West Ham’s board apparently unanimously feel that he would be an excellent signing, and he is the only potential target they have agreed on so far.
West Ham have been linked with a host of other names, but the Hammers board and manager haven’t both green-lighted any of them about from En Nesyri.
The Athletic does suggest that West Ham will continue trying to sign a striker this month, though.
En-Nesyri may now be out of their price-range, which means that both Moyes and the Hammers’ board may need to have a re-think over who they bring in.
But with Sebastien Haller now gone, it is understood that West Ham do appreciate their need to bring in more cover for Michail Antonio up-front, while they have an opportunity to do so.
