According to the London Evening Standard, Moussa Sissoko has returned to Tottenham Hotspur training and he may actually present a viable option for Mauricio Pochettino.

Sissoko may not have the same technical ability as many of Spurs’ other midfield players, but he does possess one key attribute that has been so badly missing from Tottenham’s performance of late: energy.

While so many of Spurs’ players have looked fatigued, Sissoko would at least give them some drive from midfield.

And his return could actually aid the London side more than first expected.

Sissoko has his critics in the Spurs crowd, and those negative comments are not without reason.

The Frenchman has been clumsy in possession before and failed to make much of an impact.

But his power and drive will surely make him an appealing option to Pochettino.

Spurs have looked miles short of their best of late, with Eric Dier, Moussa Dembele and Harry Winks all struggling in midfield.

And bringing Sissoko back could actually be a smart move from Pochettino, as he looks to make his Spurs side more competitive again.
