Tottenham Hotspur are set to retain Moussa Sissoko next season, with Mauricio Pochettino impressed by his attitude in training.

According to a report in the Independent, Moussa Sissoko will be kept at Tottenham Hotspur next season.

Sissoko has been heavily criticised by Spurs supporters this term, with many failing to see what he offers to the side.

However, Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been impressed by the Frenchman’s attitude in training and wants to keep him on board.

Sissoko’s future at Spurs came into question last summer, but he has played very regularly this term.

Only Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli have been used more than Sissoko this campaign, with Pochettino clearly a fan of the central midfielder.

Sissoko has made 44 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, and even though he isn’t a permanent starter, he has proven a valuable squad member.

It represents quite a turnaround for the £30 million signing from Newcastle United back in 2016.

Sissoko had endured a highly difficult first campaign at Spurs, but he seems to have convinced Pochettino that he still has a role to play.

And the Argentine boss is expecting to have Sissoko around again during the 2018/19 campaign.
