Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko is said to be ‘desperate’ to join Tottenham Hotspur today.
The Daily Mail report in their live transfer ticker on deadline day (08.39) that Daniel Levy is working on a deal for the Frenchman this morning and that the player now has his heart set on joining the club.
However, Newcastle want £35 million for the player and Spurs look unlikely to go above an £18 million fee.
The French international is not in the first-team plans at Newcastle United after making his desire to leave the club clear after his impressive performances with Les Bleus at Euro 2016.

It saw him linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain – but those deals never came to fruition and Spurs are now said to be leading the chase for his signature.
Spurs need a central midfield addition after allowing both Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb to leave the club for Hull City and Schalke 04 respectively.
A move is now looking increasingly likely. The French football association have confirmed that Sissoko has been permitted leave from the nation’s training camp in Clarefontaine in order to complete a transfer somewhere.
Perhaps he is off to Spurs.
