The Celtic star looks destined to potentially leave Parkhead at some stage, but it does not appear that it will be during the January window.

A report in the Daily Mail has suggested that Moussa Dembele does not plan to seek a move away from Celtic during the January transfer window despite being the subject of a £20 million bid from West Ham United.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a sensational first few months in the Scottish Premiership with the Hoops, and it appeared that Slaven Bilic had earmarked the youngster as one of his main targets this month.

However, the Mail reports that the Hammers’ substantial offer was rejected by the Bhoys. And while he may harbour dreams of playing in the Premier League one day, the Mail suggests that Dembele has understood the stance Celtic have taken, and will not make any attempt to engineer a move away during this window.

The Mail adds that the former Fulham man is keen to continue working under Brendan Rodgers and keep developing with the Hoops.

The news that Dembele has no desire to leave just yet will surely be pleasing to Rodgers. The prospect has been one of Celtic’s best players this season, so it would have undoubtedly been damaging to the team atmosphere if he had made it clear that he wants to leave as soon as possible.
