Lyon striker Moussa Dembele does not want to move to West Ham United in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.
Dembele is focused on playing for Lyon and wants to lead the club to Champions League qualification for next season, according to the report.
RMC Sport has claimed that the West Ham are interested in signing the former Celtic striker as a potential replacement for Sebastien Haller.
Goal.com has reported that Atletico Madrid are interested in Dembele as a replacement for Diego Costa.
Unlikely January transfer window
Dembele, described by former Celtic striker Chris Sutton as “a big game player” on Twitter in May 2020, is a very good striker who is a key figure at Lyon.
True, the 24-year-old has scored just one goal in 671 minutes in Ligue 1 for Lyon so far this season, but during the 2019-20 campaign, the Frenchman found the back of the net 16 times in the league and in 2018-19 he scored 15 league goals, according to WhoScored.
Lyon are at the top of the Ligue 1 table at the moment and are competing with Paris Saint-Germain for the title, and it is hard to see Dembele leave for West Ham in the middle of the season.
