Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side are due to face Rosenborg on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman is said to be the subject of an approach from Marseille and, if true, the news would be of great concern to Celtic, not only in regards to Demeble’s future at the club, but also the Bhoys’ chances of making this season’s Champions League group stage.
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele
Brendan Rodgers’ side are due to face Norway’s Rosenborg in the competition’s third qualifying round on Wednesday and are already without their only other recognised striker, Leigh Griffiths, through suspension.
But there could be hope yet for Celtic, with The Scottish Sun reporting that Dembele was still present at the club’s Lennoxtown training complex, and it is possible the 21-year-old’s absence from Tuesday’s session was due to something other than the recent talks between the Bhoys and Marseille.
Dembele, who was on the books of Marseille’s fierce rivals Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Fulham in his teens, is said to be open to a return to his homeland.
Can Celtic hang on to Dembele this summer?
