Tottenham Hotspur’s Mousa Dembele looks set for a move to China.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele appears to have played his final game for the club as he closes in on a move to Beijing Guoan.

Dembele, 31, joined Spurs from Fulham way back in the summer of 2012, and has racked up nearly 250 appearances for the club during his time in North London.

The Belgian has been unplayable at his best, driving through midfield with skill and power, but injuries have really caught up with him of late, and has made just seven Premier League starts this season.

Now, the London Evening Standard claim that Dembele’s time may be up, as he is in discussions about an £11million move to China with Beijing Guoan.

It’s claimed that Dembele can earn exponentially more than his current £80,000-a-week wages with a move to China, and a deal could be done within days.

Dembele is not in the squad to face Chelsea in the League Cup tonight, meaning his time with the club appears to be over, and fans won’t even get a big goodbye for the midfielder either.

Given Dembele’s age and injury record, as well as the fact that his contract expires at the end of the season, receiving £11million for his services would be a huge boost.

Mauricio Pochettino is understood to want a homegrown replacement for Dembele in holding midfield, so Spurs could at least replace him this month rather than leave themselves short for the rest of the season.
