Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Benfica defender Ruben Dias, according to the London Evening Standard.
Tottenham are still pushing to sign a central defender this summer, despite the incoming additions of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon.
In one of the most exciting transfer windows Tottenham have had for many years, the North London club have show great ambition.
And it seems that Mourinho wants his side to continue their recruitment drive in the coming weeks.
The Portuguese boss feels that adding another centre back could be key, and Dias is said to be his preferred option.
Dias seemed impossible to obtain at the start of the summer, but Benfica have not qualified for the Champions League, and the Standard say that they may now be more open to selling him, as they need to raise funds.
Dias has an £80 million release clause in his contract (Football London), but Tottenham would surely have to get a serious discount on that fee before considering a move.

The links are exciting though, as Dias could be a great addition to their line-up.
Tottenham have a strong group of central defenders at the club, but they still have not replaced Jan Vertonghen, who actually left to join Dias at Benfica earlier this summer.
Dias is robust, combative and, crucially, still only 23, so he should have his best years ahead of him.
And if Dias was to join Tottenham’s ranks, then Mourinho would surely have a squad at his disposal which should be capable of pushing into the top four.
