Jose Mourinho wants to make Eric Dier a centre-back at Tottenham Hotspur, that is according to the Daily Star.
Dier generally played in defensive midfield for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino, but his form has dipped in recent years.
The England international has looked cumbersome in the centre of the pitch and his passing range has been called into question.
Dier, himself, has often suggested that he feels more comfortable playing at centre-back.

And it seems that the Tottenham man will get his wish now Mourinho is in charge.
Before the break in the season Dier was tested out in the heart of Tottenham’s defence, which already hinted Mourinho was considering a change to the 26-year-old’s position.
Dier impressed in both a two-man and a three-man backline for Spurs, and it seems that he has now done enough to convince Mourinho that his long-term future lies in defence.
Tottenham are now aiming to buy a defensive midfielder this summer, according to the Star.
Mourinho will also hope that he can find a way to get Dier back to the sort of form which saw him valued at £50 million (Guardian) only three years ago.
