Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has been left unhappy with Harry Kane’s decision not to play last night, Football London report.

Kane did not travel with the Tottenham squad yesterday, and Jose Mourinho admitted after the game that the striker chose not to play himself.

Kane has only recently returned from injury and pulled out of the game, at risk of worsening the problem.

Gareth Bale did similar recently, and Mourinho appeared to publicly criticise the Welshman on that occasion.

And Kane’s decision not to play yesterday against Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League has seemingly also frustrated Mourinho.

In the end Spurs didn’t need Kane, as they picked up a 4-1 victory without him to effectively seal their progress.

There are unlikely to be any consequences for Kane over the decision not to play either, as Mourinho can ill-afford not to keep the striker on side.

The Athletic reported this week that Kane is hugely loyal to Mourinho and loves working with the Portuguese boss.

And he will surely come straight back into Tottenham’s starting line-up at the weekend, when Spurs take on West Ham United.
