Spanish newspaper Marca are claiming that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has turned down a lucrative contract to coach Brazil.
A sensational report in Spanish newspaper Marca states that Brazil’s Football Federation has attempted to lure Jose Mourinho to take over after their World Cup failure.
Luiz Felipe Scolari has become a national villain after Brazil’s 7-1 rout at the hands of Germany and a new boss will be sought after tonight’s third place playoff.
However, Mourinho has reportedly refused because he wants to honour his contract at Stamford Bridge, which still has three seasons left to run.
Brazil’s football authorities apparently began putting feelers out immediately after the defeat against Germany and made contact with Mourinho’s representative Jorge Mendes.
While the Special One has said no for now, it is suggested that his position may change depending on how things develop with Chelsea.
Marca states that former Real Madrid man Ronaldo vouched for Mourinho in meetings with the Brazilian chiefs and is a big fan of the Portuguese tactician.
