Tottenham Hotspur target Wout Weghorst has now played his last game for Wolfsburg, De Telegraaf report.

Weghorst started for Wolfsburg against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, as the two sides drew 0-0, and it is now fully expected the striker will leave.

Tottenham are among the most interested teams in signing the target man, with Jose Mourinho said to be hoping that talks commence very soon.

Tottenham have already brought in Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon recently, but Mourinho still feels that purchasing a new number nine will be key.

And it seems that Spurs could be edging closer to getting a deal for Weghorst done.

The powerful forward would be making a ‘dream’ move to England, De Telegraaf say, so persuading him to join should be no problem for the North London club.

If Spurs were to sign Weghorst then they would have another prolific striker to add to their ranks.

The 28-year-old has reached double figures for goals in each of the last five league seasons and could provide excellent cover for Harry Kane.

The Express claim that if Spurs are to buy Weghorst it will cost them £27 million.
