Tottenham are pressing ahead with their plans to sign Thomas Meunier, according to the Times.
Jose Mourinho wants to upgrade his defensive options at Tottenham this summer, despite only having a limited budget to work with.
The Portuguese boss could now sell both his current right-backs to fund a move for Meunier, as he is so keen to bring the PSG player to North London.
Spurs currently have Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters contracted to the club, but neither have convinced this season.
Aurier has played regularly for Mourinho but has been unreliable defensively, while Walker-Peters has been sent out on loan.
Spurs are now keen to offload the pair of them to make room for Meunier, who has been identified as an improvement on both.
Meunier’s contract at PSG is due to expire in the summer, and he could present a bargain on a free transfer.
Meunier is renowned for his attacking quality, but he is also a more solid defender than Aurier, and should provide Tottenham with more stability at the back if he does join.
