Antonio Conte’s animation at Tottenham Hotspur might be contagious.

Tottenham secured a 1-0 victory away to Watford on Saturday afternoon, leaving it late to do so.

Davinson Sanchez nodded home a stoppage-time winner to give Spurs all three points.

The passionate Italian manager was the picture of euphoric on the touchline, before one of his players ‘shoved’ him.

According to Football London, Sergio Reguilon, who joined the Lilywhites under Jose Mourinho, sprinted across the pitch to celebrate with his manager, but did so by pushing him ‘in the side’.

Textbook

This is textbook Conte.

Not that the Tottenham manager knew Reguilon would celebrate like this.

But the former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach has a habit of building a project which spikes the players’ emotional investment.

The Spurs lads are fully on board with what the 52-year-old is trying to do in North London and Reguilon’s actions prove as much.

Under Nuno Espirito Santo, would Reguilon – or any Tottenham player – have joined in and celebrated with the Portuguese? Probably not.

Conte is a different breed and with Spurs playing the way they are, and winning ugly, the players know it too.
