Paulo Gazzaniga and Gedson Fernandes have been brought back into Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League squad, which is set to be announced today, the London Evening Standard report.
Gazzaniga and Fernandes were not included in Tottenham’s Europa League team, and concerns formed around whether they would get any first-team football at all until January.
But Jose Mourinho has offered the pair a lifeline by putting them back in his 25-man Premier League squad.
Whether Fernandes, who was hailed as a ‘top player’ by Harry Winks (Telegraph), or Gazzaniga will now be given game-time remains to be seen, but they do at least have the chance of being called into the starting line-up.
Gazzaniga has slipped down the pecking order at Tottenham this season, and has seen Joe Hart and Hugo Lloris move ahead of him in Mourinho’s first-team plans.

Fernandes, meanwhile, seems to have fallen completely out of favour – with a batch of midfielders all starting ahead of him.
Fernandes’ key asset is that he is extremely versatile though, and if Spurs do suffer an injury crisis he may be afforded an opportunity to fight his way back into contention.
