AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho wants to sign Japhet Tanganga from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to Il Tempo (print edition, page 16, July 31, 2022).
Jose Mourinho wants Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga at Roma
The Italian publication has claimed that Tottenham youngster Tanganga is one of the central defender targets for Roma this summer.
Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is also on the radar of the Serie A club, according to the report.
Roma head coach Mourinho worked at both Manchester United and Tottenham.
Il Tempo (print edition, page 16, July 31, 2022) have added that Roma would like to sign Tanganga initially on a loan deal.

AC Milan also keen on the defender
Earlier this month, Italian news outlet CMW reported interest in the 23-year-old Englishman from AC Milan.
The report claimed that Tottenham Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, wants the Italian champions to pay €25 million (£21 million).
Milan reportedly want to sign the 23-year-old on loan with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
Tottenham are wiling to do a loan deal, but Paratici wants the contract to have an obligatory purchase clause of €25 million (£21 million).
Exit likely?
In our view, it is very likely that Japhet Tanganga will leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has enough options at the back, and the 23-year-old would find it hard to get playing time this season.
A move to Roma or Milan where he could play regularly and also compete for major honours would make sense for the Englishman.
