According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur have started talks with intermediaries about a deal for Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard.
It’s claimed that Spurs are utilising intermediary agents to kickstart a deal, with Jose Mourinho keen on a reunion.
Mourinho worked with Lingard at United, and helped him reach what has been the peak of his career so far, landing him a spot in the 2018 England World Cup squad.
Lingard hasn’t had quite as much success under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and was’t even on the bench to face Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
That may spell the end for Lingard with his boyhood club, and Mourinho has asked Daniel Levy to try and get a deal done.
The 27-year-old is understandably reluctant to leave his boyhood club, but he needs to play games – and that may not happen with the Red Devils.

However, the move may be dependent on Spurs selling Dele Alli, who now appears to be out of favour under Mourinho at Tottenham.
Bringing in Lingard right now wouldn’t make much sense, as a centre back and a striker should be bigger priorities for Tottenham.
In truth, his form, age and required fee make him a strange target for Spurs, but if Mourinho rates Lingard that highly from their time together at United, a move could well materialise.
