David Turnbull’s move to Celtic collapsed this week.
The Scottish Sun has reported that Celtic won’t have to pay any more money than they had previously agreed to for David Turnbull.
The 19-year-old’s £3.25 million move to Parkhead collapsed earlier this week after it was discovered that the Motherwell midfielder was carrying a knee injury.
Turnbull is set to undergo surgery on the problem on Tuesday and, despite potentially missing the rest of 2019, the Scottish club will give him a new three-year deal.
The The Scottish Sun adds that there will be a clause in the contract which would allow him to leave for £3.25 million, the same price that Celtic had agreed to pay to sign him.
January will be the earliest that the Hoops can renew an interest, but even then he might not be back in Motherwell’s XI as a result of his upcoming knee surgery.
Realistically it might be next summer before Celtic – or anybody else – go in for him, but the good news is he’ll only be 20 by then and still have his entire career ahead of him.
