Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly on the verge of completing a summer move for Moses Odubajo.
According to a report from The Sun (12/6; page 52), Moses Odubajo is on the brink of completing a move to Sheffield Wednesday following his departure from Brentford this summer.
Odubajo is a free agent after spending the past campaign enjoying a second spell with the Bees. During his time at Griffin Park, he played 30 times in the Championship, with a further five appearances coming in the cup competitions.
The return to Brentford allowed Odubajo to prove that his previous fitness problems are behind him. He did not play a single game during the final two years of his spell with Hull City.
His only football with the Tigers came during Steve Bruce’s tenure, with the right-back appearing 53 times in all competitions in the year that Bruce took the side to the Premier League. And it appears that the pair are set to be reunited imminently.
The Sun (12/6; page 52) reports that Odubajo is ‘on the brink’ of joining Wednesday on a free transfer this summer.
Odubajo could be a very shrewd signing for the Owls given his ability to play on either flank. He has spent much of his career being considered a right-back, but predominantly played on the left this past season.
It remains to be seen what position Bruce plans to use him in. But there is no question that the 25-year-old could be an excellent addition to Wednesday’s squad as they look to challenge for promotion next season.
