According to Le Phoceen, Arsenal ‘greatly appreciate’ Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson and could make a move to sign him.
It’s claimed that the club’s ‘new athletic leadership’ – boss Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu – are huge fans of Sanson.
Sanson is gaining support as a target at the Emirates Stadium, with the Frenchman possibly being viewed as a replacement for Dani Ceballos if he doesn’t return.
Marseille need to sell players this summer, and Sanson would seemingly be more likely to go than Boubacar Kamara and Duje Caleta-Car.
That could play into Arsenal’s hands as they look to bolster their midfield without breaking the bank this summer.
Sanson, 26, was a regular for Andre Villas-Boas last season, and he racked up five goals and five assists from midfield.

The former Montpellier man is technically-gifted playmaker with a great passing range, possessing the ability to dictate from deep or get forward.
Those attributes could fit into a 4-3-3 if Mikel Arteta goes that way, and whilst Arsenal have been linked with a host of midfielders, Sanson may now emerge as a top target.
