Nottingham Forest were one of the busier teams in the January transfer window, as Aitor Karanka tried to get the squad together he wanted.
The Spaniard brought in a host of new recruits, including Portuguese defender Tobias Figueiredo.
The talented Portugal under-21 international arrived on an initial loan deal from Sporting Lisbon, which is expected to become permanent in the summer.

Now more details of the deal have been reported by Portuguese source O Jogo.
They claim that Forest have a compulsory purchase option in the loan deal which amounts to around £2.5 million, which had already been reported elsewhere.
They then go on to suggest Sporting are clearly not giving up on the player. It is stated they will maintain 20 percent of the player’s economic rights and have first refusal on his repurchase should he come good at Forest.

It essentially means Sporting have the right to jump to the front of the queue to re-sign the player, should another club make an offer for his services.
Such deals are commonplace in Portugal and Spain and Sporting are clearly not willing to get stung if Figueiredo goes on to become a hit at the City Ground.
Forest fans will just hope he can help them out of their current rut in the Championship.
