VfB Stuttgart attacker Darko Churlinov is due to land in England today to complete his move to Burnley, with the winger set to sign for the Championship side in a €5m (£4.2m) deal.

According to Kicker, the Bundesliga talent has arrived in Lancashire this morning to complete a medical at Burnley before signing for the Turf Moor side, becoming Vincent Kompany’s eleventh new addition of the summer transfer window following last week’s arrival of Nathan Tella.

The Clarets have endured a mixed start to life back in the second-tier with Burnley winning one, drawing one and losing another in their opening three Championship league matches, yet the arrival of Churlinov could boost morale around the squad as well as improve the club’s attacking options.

Churlinov impressed with Schalke 04 last season as the German giants reclaimed promotion back into the Bundesliga with the North Macedonia international scoring twice and bagging six assists for the Royal Blues, and the 22-year-old could be an outstanding new addition for Burnley this season.

With Kompany looking for a quick return back to the Premier League, Churlinov has the potential play a huge role for Burnley in the new campaign, with the attacker likely to thrive in the Championship after dominating in the German second-tier last season with Schalke.

Indeed, the winger was labelled by Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat as a ‘mentality monster’, and this attitude will win Churlinov a lot of supporters for Burnley should the winger hit the ground running at Turf Moor, with the attacker no doubt already eager to make an impact at his new club.

Churlinov could be Kompany’s best signing yet for Burnley

This summer has seen Burnley undergo a huge cultural reset under Kompany that has taken the once old-school English side into the new era with the arrival of many new technical players from all corners of the globe, yet Churlinov could be the club’s best signing so far this summer.

After all, the North Macedonia star was key for Schalke last season in their return to the Bundesliga, and at just £4.2m, Burnley and Kompany have landed a bargain in Churlinov, who could play a massive role in the club’s return to the Premier League in the coming years.
