Leeds will reportedly demand at least £20million for striker Chris Wood.
According to The Mirror, Leeds United have slapped a £20million asking price on the head of striker Chris Wood, after seeing Middlesbrough pay £15million for Britt Assombalonga.
Wood, 25, went into last season needing a big campaign having received plenty of criticism for his first season with Leeds, having scored just 13 goals in 37 games following a move from Leicester City.

The New Zealand international starred last season though, smashing 27 league goals in 44 games, ending the season with 30 goals in all competitions having become Leeds’ shining light under Garry Monk.
Unsurprisingly, Wood’s goalscoring exploits have attracted major interest, but The Mirror report that Leeds have slapped a £20million asking price on Wood’s head to fend off interest from Southampton, Stoke City and Swansea City.
The report claims that Leeds have seen former boss Monk head to Middlesbrough and spend £15million on Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga, and firmly believe that Wood is worth at least £5million more.
Since Assombalonga made his move to the Riverside Stadium, fans of both clubs have been engaging in arguments over social media regarding who is the better striker – and Leeds may just have a point here.

Assombalonga hit 14 goals last season, taking his tally for Forest to 30 goals in 69 games. Meanwhile, Wood scored 30 times just last season, and now boasts an impressive record of 43 goals in 85 games for Leeds.
Wood doesn’t have the same injury worries Assombalonga brings either, meaning that, if Leeds really are using the Assombalonga deal to set the market for Wood, then they have every right to do so.
