Liverpool have completed the signing of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah (The Guardian) on Thursday, but it seems that Jurgen Klopp is looking to add more depth in the forward rank this summer.
According to reports from Marca, Liverpool have made an ambitious approach for Monaco’s highly talented young forward Kylian Mbappe, and the Reds have made an £87.8 million bid for the France international.
Mbappe, 18, has emerged as Europe’s premier young talent, scoring 26 goals and assisting a further 14 for Monaco last season.
A host of heavyweight clubs around the continent, including Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, have showed an interest in the youngster.
The report claims that Monaco have rejected the offer for Mbappe, who has set his sights on joining Real Madrid.

He has told Monaco owner Dmitri Rybolovlev that he sees himself ready to make his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu, and that he is not at all considering the option of joining other clubs.
Salah’s arrival has indeed bolstered Liverpool’s attacking depth; there is no doubt that Mbappe would have increased the chances of the Reds to be a Premier League contender.
It seems highly unlikely that Mbappe will choose Liverpool over Real Madrid at the moment. But the fact, that the Reds have made a formal approach (plus the big money offer) for the player serves to underline their ambition this summer.
