Everton could face new competition for Boca Juniors star Frank Fabra.

According to Goal, Monaco have joined the battle to sign Boca Juniors defender Frank Fabra – potentially ruining Everton’s pursuit of the player.
Fabra, 27, made his name in his native Colombia with Envigado, Deportivo Cali and Independiente Medellin, before heading to Argentina with Boca in 2016.
The left back, known for his ability going forward, has impressed with Boca in his two years with the club, and interest in his signature appears to be mounting.
Goal now report that Monaco have joined the race for Fabra, noting that Everton and Napoli are also interested but now face a new battle.

The Ligue 1 side snapped up Terence Kongolo from Feyenoord last summer, but his initial struggles saw him join Huddersfield Town on loan in January, and a new left back may be targeted.
Fabra, who is set to feature prominently for Colombia at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, is now the subject of major interest, with Boca demanding $10million (£7.5million) for his services.
Extra in Argentina recently suggested that Everton were strongly pursuing his signature and were leading the race with a move thought to be close, but those rumours have cooled in recent weeks, and Monaco’s interest may just suggest that Fabra isn’t Goodison Park-bound after all.
