Arsenal and Tottenham will need to pay upwards of £75m if they want to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

AS Monaco hold all the cards when it comes to the future of Thomas Lemar, despite increased speculation linking the winger with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions.

The Independent reports that North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both shown interest in signing Lemar in recent times.

In fact, according to Sky Sports, the Gunners had a bid in the region of £30m for the 21-year-old rejected by Monaco, who are apparently looking for more than double that.

The same Independent article says that the Principality club were “surprised” by how low the bid was in fact, and are asking for closer to £75m if they are to even entertain the idea of selling.

After an impressive 2016/17 campaign that saw Les Monégasques win the French top tier and reach the Champions League semi-finals, many of their players have become hot property.

Bernardo Silva has already completed a £43m switch to Manchester City, Tiemone Bakayoko is expected to leave for £35m and there are rumours Kylian Mbappe could depart for a world record fee.

As a result the club are not short of money and do not need to be pressured into selling Lemar, with Sky Sports reporting that Spurs have already decided not to take their interest further.
