Everton are reportedly closing in on striker Moise Kean.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton have agreed a deal worth a total of €40million (£36million) with Juventus for striker Kean.
Kean, 19, made headlines last season with six goals in 13 games for Juventus, and only five of those actually came as a starter.
The Italian international is out of contract next summer though, and with first-team football unlikely due to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kean is moving on.
Everton have been pursuing a deal for weeks, and finally appear to have found a breakthrough, paying €30million (£27.50million) up front and another €10million (£9million) in add-ons.
That takes the total amount to around £36million, and Kean will also earn €3million a year in wages, which is around £53,000-a-week.
The report suggests that Juventus will have a first option on a future transfer, meaning Everton may well have managed to negotiate out of a definitive buy-back clause in the deal.
If that’s the case, this is an absolute masterstroke by director of football Marcel Brands, as he’s landed one of Europe’s most exciting strikers whilst ensuring that Everton have control over his future valuation.
Kean isn’t just pace and power, as he’s skilful and smart with his movement as well as deadly in front of goal for his age, and this is one of the major coups of recent times for Everton, somewhat akin to the Romelu Lukaku deal in 2014.
