Mo Diame’s current contract at Newcastle United is due to expire at the end of the month.

According to the Chronicle, Mo Diame could stay at Newcastle United if Rafael Benitez is kept on.
Benitez wants to offer Diame a two-month extension, but Newcastle will not sanction that until Benitez’s own future is sorted.
The Spaniard has just weeks remaining on his current deal, and he is still yet to commit his future.
Newcastle are hopeful that Benitez will sign a new deal, but they are adamant that they will not be offering contracts to players until their current manager’s plans are known.
It leaves Newcastle at risk of losing Diame, who is set to leave at the end of the month as things stand.

Diame’s current deal, which is worth £45,000-a-week (Daily Star), is set to expire on June 30th, and he looks almost certain to depart unless Benitez stays on.
If Benitez does pen a new contract, though, Diame could be given a two-year extension to keep him at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle are in danger of being left seriously short in central midfield, with doubts over the futures of Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden and Sean Longstaff all lingering.
