The Newcastle United midfielder is set to leave the club having spent three years at St James’ Park.

According to a report from the Sun, Mo Diame has agreed a two-year contract with Al-Gharafa with £100,000 per week, after leaving Newcastle on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old joined the Magpies from Hull City in the summer of 2016, but he hardly set the world alight at St James’ Park, racking up just eight goals and three assists in 103 appearances for the Toon.
And now the Sun claims that Diame will leave Newcastle on a free transfer this summer, linking up with Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa on a two year deal.
And incredibly he will be paid £100,000 per week, according to the British tabloid.

Diame earned £45,000 per week at Newcastle, according to Silly Season, so it will probably come as somewhat of a relief to Rafa Benitez to get the Senegalese midfielder’s wages off the club’s payroll.
The Magpies will now surely be in the market for a top quality midfielder to replace Diame’s energy and drive.
As the 32-year-old heads for the exit door, however, there will surely not be too many Newcastle fans who are sad to see him leave.
