Italian outlet CalcioMercato have reported that Stoke City playmaker Bojan could finally end his nightmare spell at the Britannia Stadium by leaving the Potters to join MLS side New England Revolution.

One-time Spain international Bojan, 28, had been given a reprieve in the Stoke side by Gary Rowett at the start of the season following the clubs’s relegation. He made 15 appearances, but that stopped in November.

Indeed, a decision was seemingly made towards the end of November to complete ostracise the former Barcelona, AC Milan and AS Roma playmaker from Stoke’s side. He has failed to make an appearance since November 24.

New manager Nathan Jones has not used Bojan at all in his first three matches as manager of the Potters, with his latest seeing him pick up a first win since his move from Luton Town – with an excellent 2-1 win over Leeds.

Spotrac claim Bojan is earning a huge £48,000 a week at the Britannia, with 18 months remaining on that deal. But Brad Friedel could be about to save Stoke a lot of money by luring the Spaniard across the pond.

A move would see Bojan join a squad that boasts former Chelsea and Forest defender Michael Mancienne, as well as striker Juan Agudelo – who Stoke fans will remember almost moved to the Britannia in 2013, only to fail for a work permit.

It remains to be seen if Bojan fancies a trip to the States with New England, but after being left out of Stoke’s last 10 Championship fixtures, the chances are that he will be sold.
