Millwall were earlier linked with a move for the Aston Villa outcast.

Championship side Millwall have approached Aston Villa, according to the Birmingham Mail, as they look to take Tommy Elphick on loan for the rest of the 2017-18 campaign.
The Telegraph claimed earlier this week that commanding 30-year-old Elphick was interesting Neil Harris’ side, as the Lions look to hold on to mid-table obscurity in 15th place, six points above the relegation zone.
Now, Millwall have reportedly made an offer for the Roberto Di Matteo signing, who joined the club from Premier League outfit Bournemouth for a fee believed to be around £3million.

Elphick has made just six appearances in all competitions this season, with only four of those coming in the Championship as competition at the heart of the defence remains rife at Villa Park.
The likes of John Terry, Chris Samba and James Chester have all kept former Brighton defender Elphick on the sidelines this term, until last month where he seems to have somewhat come back into Steve Bruce’s reckoning.
Bruce is more than understanding in that Elphick may want to leave to get assured first-team game time, stating: ““I’m mindful of the fact a good pro like Tommy wants to play, so we’ll see.”

He made his first Championship appearance of the season as a substitute in a 0-0 draw against Millwall, before starring at the back in recent wins against Middlesbrough and Bristol City.
With former England and Chelsea captain Terry returning to fitness following a broken foot and making his comeback against Peterborough at the weekend, Elphick could drop out of the side, which could see Millwall land their man.
