The Sun has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is the reason why Thomas Partey is not flourishing at the moment according to some players.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that some Arsenal players are not happy that Arteta is blaming them for the team’s disappointing results and performances this season.

It has been claimed that there is a feeling among the squad that defensive midfielder Partey is ‘not being allowed to flourish because of the manager’s ideas’.

Strange claim?

Partey is a very good defensive midfielder who showed what he is capable of during his time at Atletico Madrid.

True, the 27-year-old has not been at his best this season, but a lot of that has to do with the fact that the Ghana international has had injury and fitness problems.

Partey joined Arsenal on the final day of the January transfer window and did not have any pre-season with the Gunners.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old has made 13 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Arsenal so far this season.

While Arteta has to shoulder part of the blame for Arsenal’s disappointing campaign in the Premier League so far, he cannot be blamed for Partey not being at his best at the moment.
