Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta wants to add club legend Dennis Bergkamp to his backroom staff, according to The Sun.

It has been reported that Arteta wants to bring in Dutch great Bergkamp to the Emirates Stadium as the assistant coach in place of the departed Freddie Ljungberg.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that the 51-year-old former Arsenal striker ‘would jump at the chance of a Gunners return’.

The Sun has added that Arteta wanted to bring his former Arsenal teammate Santi Cazorla to his backroom staff, but the Spaniard moved to Al Sadd to extend his playing career instead.

Good decision?

Bergkamp is an Arsenal legend and is one of the greatest players to have featured in the Premier League.

The Dutchman would command instant respect from the players at Arsenal, and the youngsters would relishing working with such a high-profile figure.

One suspects that the Emirates Stadium faithful would love it if Bergkamp returned and helped Arteta in making the team good enough to compete for the Premier League top four and the title in the coming years.
