It has been reported that the Gunners have made contact with the 17-year-old winger’s agents after the teenager turned down a new deal at Portuguese giants Sporting and want to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
The winger’s buyout clause is £40 million, and Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is willing to send a young player on loan to Sporting and include cash to strike a deal with them, according to the report.
Good signing for Arsenal?
Joelson is a very talented and promising young winger, with Goal.com describing the Portuguese as a ‘teen wing wizard’ in May 2019.
The feature on the Portugal Under-17 international went on to highlight the attributes of the talented teenager, stating that although he is right-footed, he plays ‘predominantly off the left-hand side’.
The 17-year-old is lacking in experience, but there is no doubt that he can develop into a superb footballer in the coming years.
Arsenal would be a better team with Joelson in it, and under Arteta, he will improve and develop his game.
