The Northern Echo have given an insight into what Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has decided about the future of the club.
The Magpies have been up for sale for quite some time now. Many people expected Ashley to sell the club to the Saudi Arabian consortium but issues with the Premier League brought a halt to that deal.
American media tycoon Henry Mauriss was another one interested in buying Newcastle United and he reportedly even made a verbal offer of £350 million to buy the club. (Northern Echo)
Paris-based Bellagraph Nova Group entered the picture after Amanda Staveley’s consortium withdrew their offer. They even claimed to have consulted Alan Shearer and Michael Chopra but the report claims that it was merely a publicity stunt.
Newcastle United fans clearly are fed up and irrespective of their opinion on Ashley, he too would have been tired of the prolonged process which has ultimately proved to be worth nothing.
The report claims that the Sports Direct boss has had enough. He has called off negotiations with the Bellagraph Nova Group as well as with Mauriss after they failed to produce proof of funds and table a non-refundable deposit.

The Saudi consortium haven’t shown any signs of reigniting their interest which has forced Ashley to maintain status quo. He has reportedly instructed Lee Charnley to prepare a budgetary plan that the club can work on with him in charge of Newcastle United for the whole of next season.
If that is the case, Steve Bruce will remain in charge and Newcastle United will have to continue with their current plans for this transfer window.
The hopes of signing players of the level of Gareth Bale and co are now dead which is a real shame for the supporters who were sold a dream months ago, but it has all come to nothing as the new season approaches in two weeks’ time.
