Report: Mike Ashley to prioritise Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United future

Rafael Benitez is out of contract at Newcastle United at the end of the season.

According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley will now turn his attention to the future of manager Rafael Benitez.

Newcastle were quite busy on January transfer deadline day, as the Premier League outfit secured the services of Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United and Antonio Barreca from AS Monaco.

It has been reported by The Daily Mail that Newcastle owner Ashley will now prioritise tying down Benitez to a long-term future.

The former Liverpool manager’s current deal at the Magpies, and it has been reported that the club plan to offer him a three-year contract with the promise of trying to build the contract.

Benitez has been brilliant at Newcastle, and he was key in the Magpies not getting relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.

For Newcastle to progress as a team on the pitch and the club to achieve success, it is imperative that the Spaniard remains the manager, especially as he is hugely popular among the St. James’ Park faithful.
