According to a report in the Daily Mail, Mike Ashley has been in discussions with Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles recently.

There are some concerns over Lascelles’ future at Newcastle, after the defender had a reported disagreement on the training ground with Rafael Benitez.

Lascelles has been left out of Newcastle’s last two squads, and Ashley has reportedly now been in contact with the centre-back.

Ashley is said to want to go through Lascelles to discuss any concerns that the squad have.

Newcastle’s players protested against the slow agreement of bonus payments recently, and Ashley doesn’t want a repeat scenario in the future.
