According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley wants the club to continue their policy of signing young players.

Over the years, Newcastle have signed talented and promising young players with a view to selling them for a higher price later after they have impressed for the first team.

The report in The Northern Echo has claimed that club owner Ashley’s determination that Newcastle should continue to prioritise the recruitment of young players is causing friction amid uncertainly over the future of club manager Rafael Benitez.

Future uncertain

Benitez is out of contract at Newcastle this summer, and no new deal is in place at the moment.
