Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Graham Potter’s Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their quest to sign Gavi from Barcelona.
Liverpool and Chelsea eye Barcelona star Gavi
Earlier this week, 90min reported that Liverpool and Chelsea are among the clubs who are keen on signing Barcelona central midfielder Gavi.
The report named Manchester United and Manchester City as clubs who are interested in the Spain international as well.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all have held meetings to discuss a potential move for Gavi, according to the report in 90min.

However, it seems that the 18-year-old – described as a “midfield maestro” by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker on Twitter in October 2021 – is about to snub interest from Liverpool and Chelsea to sign a new contract with Barcelona.
New Barcelona contract for Gavi
Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Gavi is prepared to sign a new contract with Barcelona very soon.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that discussions between Gavi and Barcelona over a new deal are in the final stages.
Romano has added that Barcelona are not panicking, and that they are confident that Gavi will put pen to paper on a new deal.
Gavi has made four appearances in La Liga so far this season.
Last season, the midfielder made 28 starts and six substitute appearances in La Liga, scoring two goals and providing five assists in the process.
