Johnson has failed to break into Boro’s side of late.

Sky Sports have claimed on their Transfer Centre (Friday, 11:40) that Middlesbrough winger Marvin Johnson is on his way to Hull City to undergo a medical before completing a loan move.
The 27-year-old attacker only joined Middlesbrough last summer from Oxford United, where he scored seven goals and created 11 assists in 55 appearances for League One side.
He cost Boro around £2.5million, but it appears Johnson will now be allowed to leave Tony Pulis’ side after playing just 20 times for the Teesside outfit – two of which have come in this season’s Carabao Cup.
Indeed, Johnson scored against Rochdale on Tuesday night in Boro’s 2-1 win over Rochdale, before setting up Jordan Hugill for the winner with an excellent cross for the West Ham loanee.

But with Boro boasting the likes of Stewart Downing and Martin Braithwaite, Johnson’schances of breaking into the first team seem unlikely and a move to Hull is now expected to be completed before the end of the window.
Hull are expected to be busy in the transfer market before the 5pm deadline, with Aston Villa’s Tommy Elphick and Derby County’s Chris Martin also linked with moves to the KCOM Stadium.
