Like Che Adams, Vassell is attracting plenty of interest with Boro reportedly hoping to sign him from their Championship rivals.

Middlesbrough are willing to pay £2 million to sign Birmingham City striker Isaac Vassell before the end of the January transfer window, according to The Sun (27 January, page 63).
It is understood that Boro are hoping to bring in a new forward this month with the Hull City target Ashley Fletcher expected to bid farewell to the Riverside.
And Vassell is the latest name to have emerged on Tony Pulis’ radar despite the fact he has made just two Championship appearances in a season heavily disrupted by a knee injury.
The 25-year-old arrived at St Andrew’s in 2017 after an impressive spell at Luton Town with then-Blues boss Harry Redknapp tipping the striker, who is the cousin of former England international Darius Vassell, for big things.
“He’s got the ability to be a real player, there’s no doubt about that. I’ve been really excited by what I’ve seen of him. He’s powerful, he’s strong and that pace is just electric,” Redknapp told the Birmingham Mail.

But Vassell has scored just one goal for Birmingham in the last year-and-a-half, meaning Middlesbrough’s willingness to pay £2 million for his services could raise eyebrows.
It remains to be seen whether The Blues are willing to sell however with another of their strikers, Che Adams, attracting plenty of interest from Premier League clubs.
