£6m flop Gestede has scored just four goals in 40 Championship games for Boro – but he could be perfect for Neil Harris’ Millwall.

Middlesbrough are ready to get rid of their £6 million flop Rudy Gestede this month with Millwall eyeing the giant striker, according to the Teesside Gazette.
A big-money signing from Aston Villa in the winter of 2017, the 30-year-old has been a big disappointment at the Riverside. He has scored just four goals in 40 Championship games for Boro and has barely featured under Tony Pulis this season.
As a result, the Gazette believes that the North East outfit are willing to let Gestede leave before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Millwall, who have lost Tom Elliott and Tom Bradshaw to long-term injuries, are understood to be interested with manager Neil Harris confident that the 6ft 3ins target man would perfectly suit their physical, direct style.

Gestede, who scored headers for fun during a spell at Blackburn Rovers, is renowned for his presence in the air and should thrive in a Millwall side who claimed three set pieces goals during their dramatic FA Cup fourth round win against Everton on Saturday.
The Gazette adds that Ipswich Town made a move for Gestede but he had no interest in joining a club who already look to have one foot in League One.
