According to a report from the Daily Mail, Middlesbrough are interested in signing Birmingham City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz this month.

The 29-year-old joined the Blues from Burnley in the summer fo 2016, and he has gone on to score 28 goals in 106 appearances for the Midlands outfit.

Jutkiewicz is a big, strong centre-forward, and he is at his best when playing with his back to goal, acting as a focal point for his team to build their attacks from.

He is a vital player from Birmingham, but the Daily Mail claims that Tony Pulis is desperate to bring the striker to Middlesbrough.

The Southampton-born hitman has been in fine form this season, chalking up 10 goals and nine assists in 27 Championship outings, and he would be a real coup for the Teesside outfit.

Middlesbrough won’t have things all their own way, however, with Stoke City also thought to be keen on signing Jutkiewicz.

He is still under contract at St Andrews until the summer of 2020, so he will obviously command a fee, but whether Garry Monk will entertain the idea of selling him to Middlesbrough remains to be seen.
