According to The Scottish Sun, Middlesbrough want to snap up Celtic winger Scott Sinclair this summer in a deal believed to be worth around £2million.

The Bhoys swooped to land Sinclair from Aston Villa in 2016, with Brendan Rodgers moving to reunite with the winger he worked with at both Chelsea and Swansea City.

Sinclair’s first season back under Rodgers was unbelievable, hitting 25 goals in 50 games, and he followed that up with 18 goals in 55 games last season.

Sinclair has notched 17 goals in 48 games this season, but he has been on the fringes a little more, and his future is somewhat unclear given his contract situation.

The 30-year-old has just one year left on his deal, and three years after landing him for £3million (The Guardian), Celtic may cash in this summer.

The Scottish Sun now report that Middlesbrough want to bring Sinclair back to England this summer, and would be willing to offer £2million for the Celtic ace.

Celtic would be taking a loss on Sinclair, but that’s to be expected given his age and contract situation, and they may be tempted to cash in while they still can and bring in a younger wide man.
